Primary Focus

The Journeyman Network and Computer Systems Administrator will utilize advanced knowledge and appreciable latitude in decision-making, provide infrastructure support services for USACE operating systems, workstations, and servers in accordance with USACE’s cloud migration strategy. Position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with most current vendor release levels. Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels and cybersecurity standards.
  • Manage and maintain existing infrastructure, to include UNIX/LINUX/AIX/WINDOWS servers; ensure systems and applications operate seamlessly.
  • Coordinate, direct, and perform software installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and version currency and refresh of infrastructure and devices.
  • Monitor and maintain all hosted servers for potential-for-error conditions requiring preventive maintenance, and ensure ongoing security patch deployment.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 4 additional years of experience can be substituted for no degree
  • 2 years of experience
  • COMPTIA Security
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Ability obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Strong analytical and follow through skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work well independently on defined tasks.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office; including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other general software applications.
